The Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) was established by Congress in 1813 to ensure that the American public has access to government information. The Program consists of the acquisition, format conversion and distribution of depository materials to libraries throughout the United States without a fee. The mission of the Program is to disseminate information from all three branches of government for public consumption at no cost and currently includes 1250 libraries.
