Earth Day was created in 1970 and is celebrated on April 22, 2008 in the United States. The Environmental Protection Agency was also created in 1970. See a timeline of EPA history and a list of ideas to save energy, use less water, and tips to reduce, reuse & recycle. The Environmental & Natural Resources program at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law ranked #13 in a recent U.S. News & World Report survey. In addition, the program was awarded the 2007 Award for Distinguished Achievement in Environmental Law and Policy by the American Bar Association.
The Westminster Law Library has created a handout of commonly used Environmental Law Resources and subscribes to a variety of environmental & natural resources databases for your legal research needs. The Legal Information Institute from Cornell provides links to federal and statutory & regulatory material in the area of environmental law.
The NaturalResources WebLinks site was developed by the University of Denver's Sturm College of Law LLM and MRLS students in conjunction with professional law librarians. It provides links to free resources for researchers in the natural resources and environmental law fields. WebLinks covers a broad range of specialized and country-specific information, including legislation, legal databases, government agencies and search engines. Although mainly in English, Spanish and Chinese search interfaces have also been added.
Celebrate Earth Day by sending an e-card from the Nature Conservancy or take the ecological footprint quiz from Earth Day Network to see what impact your life-style has on the environment.
And don't forget that DU's Sturm College of Law was
the first law school to build a green building according to LEEDS certification!
