New FR website: www.federalregister.gov
Check out their Public Inspection Desk to find notices and rules on file for public inspection (starting at approximately 8:45 am ET) that will be published in the next day's Federal Register.
The Office of the Federal Register publishes federal regulatory material, federal laws, presidential documents, and federal organizations, programs and activities. The new site links to the following documents at GPO Access:
- Federal Register: 1994 forward, issued daily 6 am
- Electronic Code of Federal Regulation: current within two business days; not the official CFR but a "currently updated version," a compilation of the CFR and Federal Register amendments
- Code of Federal Regulations: 1996 forward
- List of CFR Sections Affected (LSA): 1997 forward; 1986-2000 in compilations
- Unified Agenda: 1994 forward; published twice yearly in the FR, it summarizes the rules and proposed rules that each Federal agency expects to issue during the next year
- Public Papers of the President: 1992 forward
- Weekly Compilation of Presidential Documents: 1993 forward
